Competition is a motivating factor provided that it is used in the right way and not to ruin other people or become vengeful or violent. Competition must be taken as a nice challenge in life to do better than what is already there and not used to hurt others.
While the children are young teach them to know and understand what is competition. By doing this in the right way, children will learn early that competition is helpful in their growing up years. They should also know and understand what competition will do to their life and what it contributes to their future life.
Competition can help young people achieve better. Children love to compete with their peers and motivating them to join competitions in different kinds of competition is helping them develop their skills and talents. Let competition become a motivating factor that help your child attain better grades in school or perform better in sports related areas. Part of growing is competing with peers and children could grow and develop better as they join different types of competition that involves different areas.
In school for example, a child will not try her or his best to study hard without someone to compete with. usually, a child strives hard because he or she wants to be better than his or her classmates. And the more awards a child receives, the better he or she performs.
Competition is usually helpful to children who lack self confidence. A child could develop self confidence by joining competitions. If children with low self-esteem win in competitions, they could have more confidence in themselves.
As parents, we should train our children to learn the true meaning of competition. We must help them accept defeat and be a good sport. And as winners, children must also be taught to consider the feelings of those who lost and never boast of their winnings.
A competition in the right essence is something that could enhance better growth and development in young people and also develop their social behaviors. There are always ways where in children could join competitions and prove themselves. With competition young people would learn the value of trying your best in every aspect of life which they would maintain as they grow older. Children who join competitions are more responsible and independent people. They don't always lean on their elders to decide and plan things for them. This is good in that they would be trained to become responsible citizens in the future.
