Dear Molly, the best dog in the world
I've always wanted to give you a list
Of the amazing things that you are
So I can prove wrong all the people who say
That you're a little alien dog from Mars
The first noticeable quality that you possess
Is very easy to see
It cheers me up, it makes me laugh
It's your trait of stupidity
When I'm down in the dumps and nobody seems
To pay attention or care
You'll come to the rescue as quick as you can
By tumbling down the stairs
The second characteristic
That I find very nice
Is your solid determination
To give me some exercise
You love escaping from the house
And bolting down the street
So I might have to catch you;
You make this a challenging feat
Well, sorry if I didn't mention
How you're prettier than any cat
I have to be honest and blurt it out:
You're uglier than a rat!

My Best Friend
I helped to pick you out
But when we got you home
You caused such a fight
He said you had to go
It really wasn't

Man's Best Friend
Always there when I come home
Thrilled to see my face
Wanting just a playful touch
Not a long embrace
Patiently
Night Prowler
Silently, stalking through the night
Sniffing the air for that special scent
Turning corners cautiously
Mindful

Dear Molly, the best dog in the world
I've always wanted to give you a list
Of the amazing things that you are
So I can prove
My cat holds me responsible
for changes in the weather
He tells me all about it
every time that we're together.
"I must go out!
