I was a Doctor in the Dominican Republic and I am now a Utilization Review Professional in the USA. I cannot speak for the majority of my colleagues. What I can say is that I have never been a dictator and I have treated Nurses with the utmost respect that they deserve. I also recognize that without Nurses, the Health Care Professional would be in trouble.
The question that should be asked is if Insurance Companies, and the Government are dictators in the Health Care System. Another question that should be asked is if people tend to ask for excess medical care.
Many in the Insurance Companies and Government have no knowledge of the Medical Profession and of Patients. They are more interested in filling quotas to fill their pockets.
Many Patients who complain about the high cost of medicine should take into account the years one has studied medicine or nursing, the price for that education, and the training. Included are the costs for every new invention or discovery. Many who have talked about socialized medicine talk like if they lived in the times of the Cold War. Even countries with socialized medicine are wandering how to pay for services when the economy goes bust. Only time will tell.
