Honey mustard dressing is a versatile sauce that can be used for anything from salad dressings, to a dip for chicken wings. It is one of the most versatile dressings in the kitchen. Try spreading it on a sandwich or marinating meats in it. It tastes great with pork and chicken. This basic recipe is easy to make and contains ingredients that many households already have in their pantry.
Easy Honey Mustard Dressing
Ingredients:
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup cider or rice wine vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Direction:
1. Whisk mustard, honey, vinegar, pepper and salt together in medium bowl.
2. Drizzle in oil while whisking vigorously.
3. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator (covered) for up to three days.
Recipes are made to be experimented with. This basic variation can easily be adapted for any tastes by changing the type of mustard, honey, or vinegar in the recipe. Get creative and add your favorite herbs and spices. For a little extra creaminess, fold in a small amount of your favorite mayonnaise. Cayenne pepper or Tabasco sauce will give your dressing an added kick.
The serving options are endless as well. Create unique salads and give them their own twist. Try serving this dressing on a green salad with apples and cheddar cheese to get several food groups in at once.
