Although our life here on earth is merely a grain of sand on the ocean beach of eternity, it has significance not only for oneself, but for others. We often times as Christians overlook the importance of our time here on Earth. In the hustle and bustle of our daily endeavors, we rarely slow down to absorb and become involved into the more finite things of God's creation. Everything on this planet and in the heavens is a gift from God. We are often times to self absorbed to slow down and receive this gift.
Stop what you are doing right now and look around. Look at the choices that are right in front of your face. You are able to use your computer to do evil, which will hurt you and others, or you can use your computer to educate yourself and do good. This will benefit you and ultimately benefit others. Can you shut the computer off and go outside for a walk and say hello to your neighbor and ask them if they need help with anything? When you are on that same walk, do you stop and smell the lilac or do you stop and smell the rose? Or do you simply pick up the phone and call your mom. God gave us choices. The importance of our choices in this life, rather large or small, are significant with our eternal destiny. Do not let yourself get so busy that you do not make the right choice. Choices are a gift from God.
Jesus understood the importance of life on earth. Jesus did not spend all his time in a church or synagogue. Jesus felt it important to go out and experience life. He made it a point to include himself with all sorts of life. Animals, plants, and all differn't types of people. No matter who or what you are, you are gifted with this life and have the right to experience it. Jesus would make it a point to slow down and to experience the importance of the life of the less then significant. We are to busy today to see that the least of things are the most important.
I believe as Christians we need to slow down and accept the importance of God's blessings here on Earth. If we do this with Love and Faith, the eternal gift we will receive is far more greater then the gifts of this life. Slow down, for a thousand years is like a day for God. I challenge you to pack an extra sandwich in your lunch tomorrow and give it to the homeless gentleman on the corner on your way to work. See how important that sandwich is to him. I challenge you to hug and kiss your spouse and tell them how important they are to you. I challenge you to help the elderly in your neighborhood, or the widow or widower. Stop and pet that stray dog or cat. When you are cut off in traffic, smile and wave. Most of all, thank God tonight before you go to bed, as he thought that you were important enough to experience life here on earth.
Father God, In Jesus's name, I ask that you give the person reading this article right now the ability to slow down and visualize the beauty and importance of every living thing on this wonderfull creation of yours called Earth. Father I also ask that through this new found vision you show them how to apply the same power of unconditional Love to their life's as you did when you found them important enough to create this world for them. Thank you Father God for being the Awesome God that you are and not the God I want you to be, In your Son the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior's name, AMEN and AMEN!
