I am the man who has a plan
To fill your life with ecstasy.
My little pills will give you thrills
And rid you of complexity.
Some fan the flame that I'm to blame
For all the service I provide.
But I supply and seed the need,
I don't create your suicide.
Like all good things that commerce brings,
I merely claim my right of trade.
I give you this, a gift of bliss,
Though I admit the bliss will fade.
Now look at me, what do you see?
I am no monster from afar!
I am your doctor, proctor, priest,
A face to grace your local bar.
And when you stare in mirror fair,
What is reflected back so true?
A face of need and pleasure's greed-
That vacant face in there is you!
The world unfurled her flags to me
And I am needed everywhere.
I walk the talk so fluently;
A citizen beyond compare.
The time is right to speak my mind
I've been maligned by history.
Don't point at me as if to find
The "why" inside your misery.
No more to preach the Pusher Man
Created great calamities,
The Pusher Man produced a plan
That guarantees no certainties.
But I will push this promise free!
The game will change from ecstasy
To need that bleeds dependency;
Prepare for this reality.

"Dad" An Addict's Life
Our poor dad, he looks so frail
It really is such a shame.
His mind is now gone,
He doesn't even know
"dead ends"
what was it like to sleep with
your head on subway stairs and
your hair tangling with the days
unwashed

Gone Again
So, again you're gone from my life,
gone like a thief in the night.
You get to hide in numbness,
I get to live with

WASTED GIRL
She stood outside the motel room,
her head resting wearily on the door.
Her skin was pale and blue-veined,

"The Other Side"
The waters where I tread are dark and cold.
Filled with sadness and miseries untold.
My plight seems so hopeless
