"How do you know when you're in love?"
I asked a butterfly.
"How should I know, go ask the dove",
Is what he did reply.
"How do you know if love is real?"
I asked a potted plant.
"I don't know, but here's the deal.
"Why don't you ask an ant?"
"How do you know if love will last?"
I asked a mini-van.
"Have you seen the price of gas?
Why don't you ask a man?"
"How do you know if love is true?"
I asked Darth Vader then.
"When you write a poem out of the blue,
That's when you know when."
And so it's clear without a doubt,
My love for you is strong.
The proof is overwhelming
Darth Vader's never wrong.

You smiled and you said thanks
I did not miss one spot
From your neck down to your flanks.
You

Love for me has been a drag,
I might as well have been a fag;
Instead of short and cute and witty,
I might be better
