Memoirs: Have you ever fallen in front of a person and what was your reaction?

Have you ever fallen in front of a person and what was your reaction?

I was working in a factory making fuel lines for the Ford F150 trucks. I had been there for a few years so I knew my environment pretty well. Vacation time rolled around and I was so excited to be taking mine. I put in the paperwork and was approved for one whole week of no work and total relaxation.

That week went by in a blur and I didn't get to do all the things I wanted because the temperature was really skyrocketing that summer. I ended up staying inside for most of the week doing house work, watching TV and taking care of my dogs. I enjoyed the time immensely; I got some much needed housework done and reading not to mention cleaning up my old computer room.

Time to go back to work and I was not looking forward to it at all. With my time card in hand I headed to the time clock. Next, I got prepared to start my shift. The plant had air conditioning but in an effort to cut corners with bills (not proven but totally my opinion) the air system wasn't working right and it was really hot in the building.

A couple of hours into my shift and I started to feel really "funny", that is the only way I can describe it. I was getting light headed and started to sway on my feet a little bit. Then it hit me, I felt like I was going to be sick so I started to the restroom. Half way there everything started to go black and I got tunnel vision. I remember walking past where my Aunt was working, reaching out to try to steady myself on the table and then next thing I know I'm on the floor with my supervisor kneeling over me asking me if I am okay. I laid there for a few minutes trying to get my bearings and tried to sit up. They helped me up and helped me to the office. They asked me a few questions to make sure I knew who I was and where I was. I immediately started to cry. I had never past out in my life and it was a really scary ordeal for me. I thought something was really wrong with me.

I went to the DR. the next day and he explained to me that sitting in the house in the air conditioner for a whole week and then going back to work into the heat had my body all out of wack and that is why I passed out.

I was so embarrassed and scared that it would happen again that I started sitting outside for a few minutes at a time several times a day when I was at home. It never happened again and shortly after the air conditioning was fixed at work.
