The power of healing often comes up when you sit down and say I am a Christian. "So can you do miracles?" "Can you heal me?" Well the simple answer is yes! God the almighty can give the power to healing to anyone who has faith enough to make the healing happen. I don't think you can just say "be healed in the name of God" and they will be healed. You need to have faith that God can and will heal them. It is God who gives us the power to heal, he heals through us.
Some people may say that healing illness, disease or disability is impossible as it cannot be shown to work through science. But God is more than science, he can change every particle and every atom around us at will. This is why healing can and does work. I think any Christian can heal anyone in any faith or anyone without faith if the Christian has enough faith.
Faith is what keeps us praising and it is essential to Christianity. One example is the walking on water story from the Bible. Can we follow? We need to have the same faith and believe that we can heal that person and it will happen. We also need to remember to praise God for his healing power. I don't think anyone can be healed without good cause, if someone is dying then it may be that it is better for them to spend all eternity with God than with us on earth.
This is where we hit a problem, what is worthy to be healed? We could go on about that for all eternity. I think the common cold or cough can be healed by God if there is good reason and although not talked much about these healings probably take place. But, many people seem to think of healing as being someone who is blind seeing or the lame walking again. These are examples of things that can be healed. Imagine the publicity God would get if someone who was unable to walk suddenly stood up and walked away after you healed them. Now that would be good and it happened throughout the Bible.
Most of the time however, healings are things that we pray for without too many people knowing but even today there are examples of healings that people have performed, you can watch them on TV sometimes as well. In the USA these gatherings take place in stadiums country wide and people are healed in front of a live audience. It is important to remember that although you may want a person healed it may not be best for them to be healed, that decision is God's and we can talk to Him about it. Healing does work and as a Christian it is an important part of our faith.
