Sexy is much like beauty: In the eye of the beholder. I don't think anyone can put a stamp on what exactly sexy is, much less what qualifies as sexy. These days sexy can be applied to a wide variety of subjects. TV shows, an expensive luxury car, even a smell can all be considered sexy. I guess it just depends on who you talk to at the moment. Everyone has the qualifications to be on the sexy list. I'll tell you why. Sexy begins as a feeling. It's an emotion young and old have the right to whip up at any time in our own little worlds. Here's the secret: sexy truly begins in your very own thoughts. It's a state of mind that reflects your confidence and how you feel about you.
Let's strip sexy down to its birthday suit. Sexy isn't those four hundred dollar shoes you bought or that lady with the secret, you know the place that all the women flock to purchase lacy frilly unmentionables. All that extra stuff you put on just adds to what is already there, bringing out your sensuality. Physical things give sexy a face, so to speak. Most would agreed that fashion has played a major part in what our culture deems sexual. Designers over the years have given the less-is-more look the thumbs up as the industry standard for what is erotic. However these things aren't the essence of sexiness.
These days sexy seems to be manufactured and packaged in a box ready for tweens, middle aged and mature folks alike to buy into for dollars and cents. It's sold on store shelves ready for the insecure and mindless to be lead by the nose as executives in boardrooms decides what's appealing. We've been force fed someone's idea of what sexy should be every time we open a beauty magazine or watch the latest gyrating pop star. Years ago it was taboo to show your ankles for fear that it would raise the inner sexual beast within a man. It was just too sexy. What's sexy to the masses changes over the years. It's a fad that comes and goes, but your inner confidence should never fade. Charm, wit and vivaciousness are all the beginnings of what qualifies as sexy. I could sit here and go through my personal list of what I think is sexy but half of my readers would disagree. Years from now, even less would agree. In the 80s big hair teased to its limits was what every woman did to enhance her beauty accompanied by over the top drag style make-up. These days lots of women want make-up but don't want to look like a clown, its more about the natural look.
