The rights of the Homosexuals and their human rights arguments may seem all well and good but according to the sound teachings found throughout the Bible, Homosexuality is clearly wrong. Let me put it plainly for those who still misunderstand, Homosexuality is a SIN in the eyes of God.
The Bible from the very beginning speaks what every true Christian obeys. When God spoke to Israel, he said to Moses to make sure the people did not engage in unlawful and defiling sexual relations. In Leviticus Chapter 18 verse 22 says "Do Not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable." Later in Leviticus Chapter 20 verse 13, it says "If a man sleeps with a man as one sleeps with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable." And what is their punishment? Well according to the old testament laws, their punishment for the sin is death. For the book of laws (Leviticus) says "What they have done is perversion, their blood will be on their own heads."
Now we can zoom forward a bit more to the New Testament. When we do, we see Jesus preach the Gospel of forgiveness and love but at the same time, a gospel of holiness and truth. As Jesus himself said, he did not come to change to law but to fulfill it. Men and Women fell under the grasp of sin and they were spiraling out of control. Mankind's sins were at an all time high and what man needed most was forgiveness - forgiveness of his sins that none can erase. Rape, murder, genocides, sufferings, insolence, hatred, strife, captivity, slavery, subjugation, blasphemy are just some notable ones among many many sins of mankind. Homosexuality falls under the category of unlawful sexual relations - the reason why Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed. That city had everything from perversion, rape, sodomy, homosexuality and many other sexual crimes - for which God destroyed them because they became a blight to mankind.
But God is a merciful God. For since the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made so that men are without excuse for their wayward ways. Although they knew God, they neither glorified him as their God or gave thanks to him for his wonderful works. They claimed to the wise but all their knowledge and attempts were just mere futility and they exchanged the real God's glory for idols of Gold - shaped like man, beasts birds and reptiles of this earth. With such foolish hearts they pursued their imaginations with no place or though for God. So God gave them over to the sinful desires and lusts of their heart and they committed sexually unlawful and impure acts - degrading their bodies with one another.
In Romans Chapter 1 verse 26 and 27, Paul says "Even their women exchanged their natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way, Men also abandoned their natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion."
The Bible says that a man who sexually defiles himself breaks God's law and "sins sexually aganist his own body" (1st Corinthians Chapter 6 verse 18). The same is said for bestiality and lesbian behaviors in the Bible.
So what is so controversial? There are news headlines of Gay Priests in the Churches (as if the Boy lovers were not enough trouble already) and Gay pastors. In fact, there is huge controversy going on as to whether a homosexual man can be ordained and it is threatening to split many churches apart. Let me spell it out for you, if you claim that you are a bible teaching biblical church then there should be NO so called "controversy." The Bible clearly spells out that God does not like Homosexuality and it is WRONG. Such acts of improper behavior and sexual immorality should not be allowed in the church.
Sure you are going to upset some of the homosexual activists and a small part of your congregation but hey, Jesus never said everyone will make it to heaven. God does not issue group visas to get into Heaven. Its a individual commitment and journey and a church is supposed to play a supporting role and to act as a community of believers. But if the church is going aganist what the Bible is teaching, then you have to make a choice. Either go with them down to the pits of sinful rock bottom or stand up for your believes and leave.
If Jesus was here today, he would tell these homosexual activists in the Church the passage from Luke 19:46. Jesus would say "My house will be called a house of prayer but you have made it a den of robbers." Homosexuality does not belong in the Church. So if you church or congregation claims to be Christian but is advocating anti-biblical practices and "modern social values" then be aware that it is time to move on, that church is not the right place for you. As Jesus said, his real brothers and sisters in Christ (church) are those "who hear God's word and put it into practice" (Luke 8:21).
So yes, Christian Churches should teach that homosexuality is wrong. The bible and the apostles all clearly made the statements numerously and over and over again that Homosexual behavior is not tolerated in the Church. Any Church or community that allows homosexual behavior to take place or gives precedence to any non-biblical teachings that are clearly wrong ARE NOT Christian. They may claim to be Christian or be christian - but in name only. They are far from God and the real commandments given to us by our lord.
And of course, i will get labeled as a Homophobic or a racist or anti-human rights or some other convenient label but that's fine because the truth hurts. In America or Western countries you can claim your rights and be homosexual - that's your freedom granted by human laws and constitutions. But divine law is not something humans are allowed to manipulate or twist. Divine law forbids it and places a punishment of such behavior. And what happens in the Church is supposed to follow Divine law and that makes Homosexuals the law breakers and thus cannot participate in Church unless they repent and discard their foolish behaviors. God does not allow sexual immorality and perversion.
And i believe no one is born Gay, for we are all made in the image of God. We always have a choice and if you really wanted to get a substance to your life or find a purpose in your life, then i ask you to seek God. Even if you do not enter a church, seek him in your heart and you will find him. The ultimate question is, Why are you placed on this earth, what is YOUR purpose for existence. Is it to pass time doing whatever you want, pursuing vain goals in life and wasting your health in sexual and spiritual immorality? Or is there a higher purpose for your life?
