Tuna Fish sandwiches are similar to potato salad in that flavors that go into it are particular to the tastes of its maker. Many tuna sandwich eaters will say it is made with mayo, the others will say just mustard, more will say you must combine the two, and don't even start when it comes to pickles, relish, onions, cucumber, etc...
Tuna Fish Sandwiches are masterpieces in which the view is solely in the eyes of its master. Here is my idea of a tun-fish sandwich...try it on see if it fits you. Who knows you might like it...
The Stuff:
1 can of tuna(in water)
3 dill pickles, diced up nicely
Lots of mustard
a handful of diced red onion(diced SUPER SMALL)
wheat bread(4 slices, this makes two sandwiches)
a slice of swiss cheese
cayenne pepper
thyme
butter or spray
Fix it Up:
1. Mix together the tuna, the mustard, the onion, cayenne pepper, thyme, and the pickles. Stir it so everything is well mixed. Add as much or as little mustard for your preference.
2. Heat a frying pan up and put a little bit of butter on the bread as if you were going to make a grilled cheese.
3. Place the piece of bread in the pan(buttered side down) and top with the cheese and half of the tuna mixture. Cover with other slice of bread(butter side up). Heat it up, flip it, grill it, and wait for the cheese to melt and then eat it along side an apple or something that will take the tuna smell out of your mouth!
4. Repeat for a second sandwich or store the tuna for tomorrow! Enjoy...
