Welcome the press to your business. If the local newspaper highlights different businesses invite them to come and see what you are all about. An invitation is never a bad thing. Tell them what is new and unique in your business. Explain why people may want to know something about your company.
One of the keys is to become involved in the community and there are many ways to do that. Volunteer to clean up a section of the roadway. Your company name will put up on a sign showing that you are cleaning the area. It's a great way to demonstrate that you are concerned about the environment and doing your part.
Sponsorships are not free, but they are good advertising. It may also be one of those tax breaks.
Sponsorships can also be teamed up with events on the radio, TV and newspaper. Be a part of a charity event. If you can't donate money donate time. Provide the charity with your logo to be used in advertisements.
