Your body language can tell a person who knows how to read it almost everything they want to know about you. Some people tell me I'm crazy for making such a bold statement, but it's true. I have been a successful salesperson for over 20 years now. One key reason for my success is my ability to read body language. Whether you are in an interview, or an interrogation your body will say more than your words ever could. Although I have never taken any courses on the subject I have studied people, and there reaction to certain situations, or questions during the selling process. I have proven on many occasions over the years that I have an uncanny ability of interpreting what the body is saying. I have even been able to watch a salesperson and a customer interact without hearing a word of the conversation, and with a great degree of accuracy tell what was happening in the conversation just by watching the body language of everyone involved.
Everyone to some degree or another is capable of telling what the body is saying, even something as simple as a person's smile. We have different degrees of smiles in our arsenal of facial expressions. Ever run into someone you haven't seen in years, and you say hello. Just by their expression, or degree of their smile you can tell if the person remembers who you are, or not. You can even tell whether they remember your name even if they act as if they do, but don't. When you start to pay attention to these things, you can have a lot of fun people. One thing I love to do which is sort of cruel is when they act as if they remember my name, and I know from their expressions they have no clue. I will say something like hey it's me Jack, you know Jack from High School, and that person will say, "O hey Jack, hey how have been? It's great to see you." well my name is Ken, but hilarious to see how people react. I have also been busted too by someone how did remember, but hey all in the name of science right.
So what happens when you are in an interview, well if the person conducting the interview knows what he/she is doing you can bet they are reading your body language. Having conducted many interviews myself, I will often shut out what a person is say for a minute or two just to pay attention to what their body is saying. When you are interviewing for something like a job you will have your "A" game going in what you are saying, but your body doesn't know how to perform as well as your spoken word. You may even be aware of it, and
