'Summer'
Through whitest clouds and skies of blue,
light warming breezes spread the news
- the Queen of Summer's passing through.
Most grown-ups take a holiday,
our children go outside to play,
the sun shines bright all through the day.
Streets display their hanging baskets,
people wear bright-coloured outfits,
bands march past with drums & trumpets.
A host of summer blooms appear,
the shouts go out 'She's here! She's here!'
Straw-boaters wave & people cheer.
We photograph these grand events,
long winter nights are often spent
cherishing days of merriment.
