Internal Instincts
The fury exploding within
Confined, a dormant volcano
buried away with one souls sins
Feeding on things no one knows
Caught in a torrential fight
nothing more than an outright downpour
Optionless, certainly without flight
but in the eye, it is easy to ignore
With the taste of peace
comes the hunger for so much more
Knowing it only comes on lease
long enough to pull you up from the floor
People all over the world today
proclaim we are empty inside
Which are foolish words to say
Denying the truth from which they hide
There is no emptiness in anyones pained soul
It is the fight that drives us on
Burying the primitive within the darkness of a hole
Silently there, smoldering; but never gone
