' The Gym Whim'
Feeling fat & frumpy, I headed for the gym.
My husband thought it funny and said it was a whim.
He said 'you'll never shift that weight'
- can't write what I told him ...
Getting back into the swing was very hard at first,
the bike was such an effort, the stepper was the worst,
but the music kept me going & the trainers spurred me on,
I really got back into it as the weeks went on.
I worked all through the winter & joined aerobics too,
I felt a whole new woman, energised right through.
I made dear hubby eat his words, that was of course the best,
I look quite trim & tidy now in my shorts & vest.
Perhaps I ought to thank him, though his words had made me mad,
he had bought me a leotard and a new gym bag.
Now I'm all determined to make him come with me
- he can buy the membership, then I can get in free!

I work hard everyday.

It is required.
I have to be down to one hundred and forty pounds,
By Thursday night,
