Poetry: Peace

by Donna Carroll Batton

Created on: August 22, 2008

I'll Find Peace

Someday a quiet peace I'll find
A peace of soul, a peace of mind

A haven free from grief and strife
Free from this hate and ire called life

Above, beyond the boundless blue
I'll find a peace and freedom, too

No more the quest for wealth and fame
The "I'll get more than you will" game

These things get worse as time goes on
But someday they will all be gone

If I can just hang on 'till then
I'll find a peace that's never been
