Are you ready for a vacation of a lifetime? Come to Tennessee, where the mountain views are breath taking, and world seems to revolve around you and your family. Hidden in the Great Smokey Mountains is a place called: Pigeon Forge.
Pigeon Forge is a lost treasure to most vacationers. They pass through Tennessee with out taking the time to stop and realize what a magical place this is. Loaded with great entertainment, casual and fine dining establishments, and a shopper's paradise.
We have put together a list of things you and your family can do on your seven-day vacation to the great state of Tennessee, Pigeon Forge and the surrounding area.
*Day 1-Most of us never start our vacation out on a Monday, we leave right after work on Friday and drive all night to get where we are going. So on our first day at Pigeon Forge lets do a little relaxing.
Pigeon Forge is located just a few miles from the Great Smokey National Park, so on day one get out of the car for a bit and get the kids to the park. Have a little fun walking trails and enjoying the sun. Make sure you check out clingman's dome. This is the highest point in the park. If your vacation falls in November-March this site is closed, but we can still do some site seeing and shopping.
*Day 2-Sevierville, Tennessee is the hometown of Dolly Parton. No trip to Pigeon Forge would be complete without a small detour to see the hometown of this famous music personality.
*Day 3-Dollywood, An amusement park for all. The operating dates are from the first week in April to the first week in January. This place is famous for thrill rides and they offer five different festivals through out the year.
*Day 4-Dollywood, instead of the rides, today let's catch a show. In the midst of Dollywood, there are theaters. Here everyone can catch a show. Each theater offers different shows and show times.
*Day 5- Dollywood's Splash Country, if your vacation falls during May-September, Don't forget to check out this local hangout. If your vacation falls after or before these months, let do some checking out of the local Southern Gospel Museum or the Hall of Fame.
*Day 6-Wait, WAIT, your vacation is almost over, and you haven't done shopping yet. This place is full of outlet stores, boutiques, and small shops. So hop a bus or trolley and ride around town, do some shopping. Maybe you just want to find your loved one that perfect shirt that says, "They went to Pigeon Forge and all I got was this T-Shirt". Hey they have them.
*Day 7-Pack to get ready to go home. Head out the door and on the way out surprise everyone by making a side trip to Gatlinburg for indoor ice-skating or winter skiing.
Tennessee will welcome you back with open arms. Come stay with us. No matter where you go, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, Gatlinburg, or one of the Great Smokey Mountains Parks, our home is your home.
