Dear Cieara,
Today you are 13 years old. Happy Birthday.
Right now in life you think you know everything, trust me you don't. But you are a smart girl so do this for me, please be very careful of the company you keep. Those friends you who can not keep their own lives together because of their stupid decisions please believe me will have no good effect on yours.
Listen to your parents, I know right now it seems like you are living on two different planets, but actually they know more than you think they do. Your mom loves you so much so look past your disagreements even those times when it seems like she is trying to ruin your life. : ) And your dad, he will seem so overprotective, but really he just loves you, and if he tells you stay away from certain boys, listen to him. He knows and sees things you don't and is just trying to save you from unnecessary heartache.
Look after your younger sister, stop being so mean to her. I know it seems like you two have nothing in common and all you do is fight with each other, but give it a couple of years. You'll realize she's the only "best friend" you'll ever need.
And I know it seems like so many things are important in life other than school but get your priorities together. Focus on your education like you're life depended on it. Just because you are smart does not mean you do not have to take it school seriously. Trust me that type of thinking will be your down fall.
After high school, you'll keep in touch with a few people other than that after graduation it's really all over, so try not to get caught up in things that you know won't last or matter in the long run. Enjoy life to the fullest but always keep in mind that all things you're going through and experiencing right now are so temporary, it really does not make sense to stress out for even a second.
You have some turbulent teenage years ahead of you but try not to take things so seriously. Your body is about to go through some crazy changes, it will all get better though, don't worry.
Listen to that voice inside of you that is always telling to strive for more. You feel it deep down in you, something telling you that your life has an extraordinary purpose. You know it, never lost sight of it. Do not allow others to confuse you into believing it is conceit. You know there is something in you, bigger than yourself. Do not ever apologize for that.
You are so amazing and talented babe; you have so much to offer, do not listen to anyone who tells you differently!
P.S. 10TH grade you are going to be placed Ms. Blake's Biology class, transfer out the first day of school, I'm so not kidding. : )
