THE UNCHALLENGED LIFE OF THE DODO BIRD

I was reminded just the other day...
The story of the Dodo bird.
A bird that was never challenged,
Nor challenged himself to fly.

He lived on a secluded island.
One with plenty food and no predators.
He enjoyed his little paradise,
Till one day some humans came by.

They settled on the Island,
They destroyed his habitat.
The un-ambitious bird had no home,
Till they harvested him into extinction.

I was once a Dodo bird,
A bird who loved her comfort zone.
Challenged only when necessary,
Never went in search of challenges.

I do not want to be a Dodo bird.
Today if no challenges come my way,
I will challenge myself to fly.
I will also embrace my challenges in the sky.

Even in the thick sky,
I will rise above my challenges.
Because an unchallenged life
is a one way flight into extinction.

An unchallenged life is no life to live.
