Downloadable game for review: Astro Miner, by Ugly Ralph

by Julia Miller

I really enjoyed this trial game and will play the full version for sure. I like the fact that it is not set on Earth, but rather in space. The whole universe is always an unknown and totally fun. I like the scientific aspect of this game, the fact that they were trying to figure it out and loved the asteriod theme.

I was enthralled with the whole miner and closed mines and that Ralph gets to use all of the leftover tools and objects. That was fun and had lots of useful items to play with. The platforms, springs, lifts and ladders are useful as well as challenging. I had fun jumping, climbing and using all of the tools that this game gave me. I like the fact that Ralph can power up. And that you do not have to die every second, like most other games. The graphics are good on this game, I enjoyed the vivid colors as well as the fonts.

I found it very entertaining. I was not bored with it at all. While I was doing the trial version of it, my kids and husband were watching and they enjoyed watching me play. My son took a turn at it and he did awesome. I love the monsters, they are spooky, yet not terrifying. I could not get through a couple of spots and took me some time, but finally I got throught it. I love that in a game. If it is to easy, I do not enjoy it.

Like I said before, this game is challenging, and I love a challenge. I I would rate this game a 3/5. My kids would rate it a 4/5. They really enjoyed the game as well as the game play but it was not to scary for them. They loved the challenge as well. Thank you for making a great game. If I were to improve anything... it would be the graphics, maybe make it a little more busier, more to look at, more to conquer. All in all though, it is an awesome game.
