If the Bible doesn't specify that something is wrong, does it mean it's okay

The Bible was written a long time ago, using a language ane emphasis style that we do not use in this day and age, but I believe most of what we need to live a godly life is in the Bible.

A big issue these days is pornography. While it is not written "thou shalt not look at porn" the Bible does say that a man who looks at a woman with lust is guilty of adultry.

Also, the spilling of sperm not used for procreation is looked down upon in the Bible.

The Bible does not talk about junk food, or large portions, but it does talk about gluttony. All things in moderation. It also talks about the foods that are good for us and those we should avoid, not because God is mean, but some animals and fish we eat are scavengers and what they ate may make us sick.

During the Biblical age, wine was the chief drug of choice, and God says to be full of the spirit and not of wine. So that goes with drugs. Whatever harms our body we should stay away from because our body is the temple of the Lord and we belong to Him. Same for cigarettes, they are a drug, habit forming and since most drugs are a fix, we are leaning on the fix and not on God, so they are not okay. We are to relie on God in all things.

Some things we may not feel are not mentioned in the Bible are. Gossip, is back biting, and we don't have to literally murder someone to destroy their life by gossip and lies.

There is no such thing as a "little white lie", to God it is a lie. To make it more plausable for us to commit we use "oh it is only a little white lie" or we commit the sin of lying by omission. Still it is a lie.

Sex was rampant in Biblical days, both heterosex and homosexual sex. Promiscuity was considered the norm by the "educated world" but it brought disease, unwanted pregnancies, and a distant relationship to one's partner. That is not how God meant sex to be. He wanted it to be a personal and spiritual fulfilment which one could not have totally when divided by many sex partners. It waters down what God meant to be a beautiful act between a husband and wife. Also, sex is the only sin where you are sinning against your own body. So premaritial sex may not be spelled out but that if you "burn" (have sexual needs) you should get married so you have a partner to help you tame your sexual desires.

Rape is mentioned in the Bible, it was given a small part in the Bible, but it is something God does look at it favorably nor does He look at revenge from a family member for rape good either. Vegence and revenge belongs to God not to us.

If you can not figure out what the Bible does not specify in a certain situation, ask yourself this: Does it go against any one of the ten commandments? Does it harm myself or someone else? Will someone be hurt by what I have said or done? Am I destroying the body and mind God gave me for some form of satisifaction? Is what I am doing an addiction? If yes, to any of these things you are doing something wrong.

Nothing new is under the sun, what we are experiecing other generations have gone through also. Though they were more closed mouthed about it. The answers are in the Bible, you just need to know where to look. A concordance helps, there are books that break down different aspects of life like: depression, anxiety, adultery, drugs, etc., that can help you find a topic that fits what you are looking for.

So if the Bible does not specify it terms of today's language, it does not mean it is okay to do, and it does not mean it is not mentioned in the Bible somewhere.
