Satire: Stress

There's more stress than ever these days. Such a fast paced world especially with all the creative technology. It's incredible. Though I think it's great that there are others that can design and create better than I ever could. It's easier to shop for groceries such as- our portions made out for us and family size frozen. This is suppose reduce the stress of taking too long to make dinner. This way is suppose to be a faster way for us and to eliminate time. It' works for most. Just put it in the microwave while you do something else-that's good. There's no cooking for forty-five minutes and then sitting down to eat for another half hour.

But....
There's the stress of how much these prepared foods cost! Is it still as simple as we thought? If you're a single person like me, maybe. For a large family-depending on the income coming in to the house hold thoughts of the prepared food might be a bit different. This is just one example.

Then there is the stress of kids, pets, chores and working, etc. Does the hubby and kids chip in to make each day easier for everyone? Not in some cases! Sometimes the stress is left on just one or two in the family or maybe everyone has built up stress. Maybe there are other things in the home like-colds and missing work(paychecks)that can add to stress. Then the kids with piano lessons, football practice(trying to be on time) and being everywhere at once. The stress keeps building.
On top of it all, you may have to take care of your sick mother or child with Autism,Down Syndrome. There's the stress from not having enough to cover medical bills. Life is stress, period. There really is no escaping it. Try as we may-it seems to follow you around like a dark shadow. Breathing down your back.

Though I have to say that some of our stress is brought on by ourselves. Sometimes we add to it. Getting ourselves into debt for one. The whole thing about this is that- we take certain actions and we know that one is going to get into debt to begin with. We have to learn to say no. If something sounds good and you have a weird feeling about it- that's the time to forget about it right there and then. That's the trouble, we get drawn in and suffer for it later-because we assume things will be alright down the road. Assuming gets us in trouble. Next thing we're stressed out beyond belief! This is not healthy.

When we get stressed out-and some of it is from our own doing, it's like inflicking pain upon ourself. Why would we do this? Sometimes making life easier can also make it more complicated. Sometimes it's hurtful/painful later on. How about that big car/boat that you're making payments on! It was easy to get and then you felt good. Yet it costs you in the long run-because now there are no means to pay for it or make the payments. The company is on your back all the time. The creditors are after you now. Well, here comes the pain and sorrow leading to stress or more of it!
We should think before we act upon something, no matter how bad we want it. How bad do we need this? How far is it going to get me? Is it worth it? If this is an item(for example)big screen tv. Wait until you can buy it out right. Even later there may be something better and wait until the price comes down.
But most importantly, Your thoughts alone can keep some of stress away. Whether you like it or not-there is enough stress as it is in our everyday lives with out adding to it. Unless you don't mind the pain-it's up to you/your choice.
