ADVERSITY WALKS
Seeing him is no thrill.
Down my spine goes the chills.
Several times I've ran into him.
At the times when life is dim.
He has never been a friend,
And his presence do I dread.
I have tried to keep him at bay,
But he always has his way.
Because out of me he squeezes the worst,
Until in me resurfaces the best.
He has always taken out the worst,
Till in me I see the best.

Striving to win the race all humanity must face,
Striving is what you said we must do,
Striving
