Poetry: Missing someone

by Aria Cian

Created on: August 20, 2008

I fell onto my bed.
Suddenly, I realized:
I miss him.

I miss talking with him.
I miss his silly faces.
I miss falling asleep on his shoulder
While he watches golf.

Tears surprised me.
With the determination of a
thousand hurricanes,
they fell from my eyes, unbidden.

I miss kissing him,
the best feeling in the world.
I missing laying next to him
While he catches his breath.
I miss his laugh and his smile,
most of all.

My first time crying in so long,
and it's such a surprise:
It's for the person I'd made sure
that I'd never fall for.

In this, my heart defies my mind.
I said I wouldn't care,

I wouldn't love.

But the glistening proof
glides down my cheeks.

I miss him against all reason.

I cry for him, what does that mean?
I now have the courage to love again,
But do I have the courage to tell him?
