There is a whole lot of difference between curing cancer than there is treating cancer. Curing means that you can get rid of cancer totally, in this case by using onions. You can't cure anything without the proper scientific studies being down. Anecdotal stories do not count as scientific proof. Onions may help the process along but to claim it rids the body of cancer cells is providing misinformation to those who are desperately looking for a cure and think that eating a lot of onions or garlic is providing false hope. It may slow down the cancer's growth but not get rid of it. In making a statement like this people may not seek treatment from Doctor's who can treat the disease head on with whatever treatment is needed for that particular cancer. At this time there is no panacea for all cancers but there are alternative treatments that are actually being studied by the American Cancer Association that look very promising at stopping cancer at the cellular level.
There is a great deal of research being done in the way cancer is treated and will be treated in the future. Dr. David Sinclair, a renowned scientist on anti-aging, started his research on live Baker's yeast and has had some very promising results that have broken a new trail on anti-aging and possibly for cancer research. Resveratrol, an ingredient that already has caused quite a buzz among the scientific community as an anti-aging product. It is also showing promising results in the Cancer research. Dr. Sinclair has spent many years studying the aging process.
There have been over 2000 researched articles that have been published by many different research communities on Resveratrol and scientist are hoping that this will be the major breakthrough on fighting many diseases, not just cancer. Resveratrol is a compound found in red wine but in order for it being really effective it has to be used in mega doses. So right now they are working at ways of delivering it to the body in qualities that will have a major impact on the body. Otherwise you would have to drink thousands of bottles of wine to actually benefit from the Resveratrol in it. I think it is safe to say that Resveratrol in going to change the way we will deal with many illnesses including cancer. Harvard Medical Research, the National Institute on Aging, the National Cancer Institute, and the National Institutional Environmental Health Science are all looking at Resveratrol and how it will change the treatment for these diseases and possibly many others.
Dr. Sinclair says with "this technology is that we're in a new area. We've never been here before. We've never tapped into the body's own defenses against diseases. So I think that conservatively speaking, we might be able to prevent diseases." The idea of being able to prevent diseases even before they start within the body is a revolutionary thought for scientist. In conclusion, onions may have anecdotal responses to cancer. There is no scientific evidence that has proven that it works. Without scientific evidence there cannot be any claim of something actually curing cancer. At this point we are still just looking after different treatment option. The best advice anyone can take is preventative medicine rather than having to react to cancer after it already has a stronghold on our body.
