How to get rid of bumpy skin on your face

It can be a devastating feeling to look in the mirror and your face is covered in bumps! The key to a smooth, soft complexion is simple: exfoliate, exfoliate, and exfoliate!
Through exfoliation, we slough off all of the dead skin that is sitting on the top layer of our skin which can clog the pores and create bumps of varying sizes. Every 28 days skin cells regenerate which brings more and more dead skin cells to the surface. If nothing is done to eliminate these dead skin cells from our epidermis (the top layer of the skin) they can wreck havoc on our complexion.

Luckily for us, technology has come so very far and there are many ways to exfoliate our skin pain free, easily and quickly.
Microdermabrasion is one of my favorite exfoliation techniques and must be done by a professional. It is a sloughing of the skin using either crystals, or a diamond tip wand. The wand is passed over the skin by a skincare professional, and in a similar way to sandpaper it brushes of the dead skin. This sounds much more abrasive than it really is. After a treatment, the skin is left smoother, softer, and younger looking. This helps unclog the pores as well as fight signs of aging.
Another exfoliation method is through chemical process. This involves various types of acids that eat away at the dead skin cells. The most common exfoliation chemicals involved in skincare are glycolic acid, lactic acid, malic acid, benzoyl peroxide, etc. These chemicals all work at breaking down the dead skin so it may be washed off. The chemicals/acids may be a part of a chemical peel which is fairly abrasive and can penetrate pretty deep, or it they simply could be ingredients in a cleanser or treatment cream.
It is a good idea to exfoliate at home approximately three times weekly. Depending on the sensitivity of your own skin you may need to increase or decrease that amount. It is also beneficial to use a wash cloth or some form of sponge which when even lightly rubbed in a circular motion over the skin will help to brush of the dead skin. If your skin is severely clogged it is best to seek a professional treatment such as the microdermabrasion or a professional chemical peel.
In today's advanced state of skincare technology nobody should have to suffer from a bumpy skin complexion. There are so many products available to the public at all different price ranges. There are also some really great skincare spas and dermatology offices that can provide you with a skincare regiment that is customized to your skin specifically.
