Assessing David Beckham's transfer to the Los Angeles Galaxy

by Adrian Karloci

It seems that the stardom life has finally caught up with Sir David. Real Madrid has spent 40 million dollars on new players and it seems David is no longer in Fabio Capeelo's plans.

We have seen a slide in Beckhams form since the World Cup and it seems he now is an unwanted player. I believe the slide in his career can be compared to the slide in Tom Cruises career, his good friend. This raises the question, is Beckham planning a move to Hollywood?

Real Madrid started on the weekend with Beckham on the bench, unfortunately an injury to Gutti saw Beckham step in in the 12th minute. Beckham then went on to play a characteristically average game and Real Madrid lost the game 2-0 which puts a huge dent in there title dreams. It makes you wonder if he is still concerned about his football or if he has become, like the powting princess(Victoria), a commodity to materialistic becomings. He seems to be more concerned with the launching of clothing labels, aftershaves and the attending of main stream celebrity functions! Who in there right mind would consider buying the products of a failed footballer and his never been wife.

Movies have been made on the great Beckham and you really begin to wonder why when there are players of the caliber of Ronaldihno and Ronaldo who are consistently putting in great performances. The best move for Beckham at this stage would be to move to Hollywood, but, with a voice like his there probably isn't much potential for a film career. He is also loved by the Japanese because of his good looks and celebrity status, but lets face it, whale hunting and killing are also loved by the Japanese so that is no measure of ability or class.

What is the answer for David Beckham here. A failing football career, a jealous wife and not half a brain between them. Like others it seems he is destined to just fade into history and not be heard of again. Unfortunately, due to his "celebrity status" others, Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie and the like, are enrolling their children in his soccer school. Maybe he to can teach these children how to fail as a footballer and with the guidance of there parents they too can grow into personalities that we all love to dislike.

It has been interesting watching his career slide and it will be even more interesting to see what happens over the next 12 months. I hope to have another report on the great David over the next few weeks.
