Eyebrow shaping: The art of threading

There are three main ways to shape your eyebrows waxing, tweezing and threading. Now waxing could some times cause skin irritation especially if you happen to be allergic to wax. Not to mention that waxing can also make your skin more vulnerable to sun burns in that area. Some people even say that waxing may even cause premature wrinkles! So what about tweezing? First of all it's painful and encourages in growth hair and hair grows back in a relatively short period of time. So now we are left with threading.

The art of threading is very commonly used in the Middle East and India and some people say that the art of threading is dated back to the ancient Egyptians. Threading involves just a piece of thread without any use of chemicals what so ever to give you the precise shape you want. The only thing you may want to add after a threading session is just a little bit of moisturizer. Threading is done by twisting a cotton thread around the unwanted hair where it could be a row of hair or a single hair lifting out the follicle. The hair removal processes starts in between the two eyebrows and then start removing hair from the top to the bottom. Any precise shape of the eyebrow can be given. If your eyebrow arch is too high you can fill in the space by use an eye pencil or a really dark eye shadow. But in the case of low eyebrow arch you should remove hair from underneath the arch and filling the top of the arch with an eye pencil.

There are a lot of advantages for using the threading technique for shaping the eyebrows than the other methods which is why more and more of the beauticians are learning how to do it. It's the best solution if you are allergic to wax or using product like Retin A or Accutane. First of all threading is a lot less painful than waxing as it gently pulls out the hair from its follicles creating a smooth clean surface. Threading could also be done in maximum 2-3 minutes as it pulls out a layer of hairs at the same time. Another advantage of threading is when hair grows back again it grows more slowly and becomes finer making it easier to remove as threading pulls the hair from its follicle and unlike tweezing it does not encourage in growth hair. Although threading is really popular for being done to your eyebrows, it can actually be done to remove facial hair so that when your facial hair does grow back it will grow back slower and finer than before.

So in short threading is a safe, effective and a chemical free way for removing hair.
