How do you count your true friends
do you use both hands and count from one to ten
our do use one hand like me
do you count all five or use just one to see
only one true friend can there ever be

How do you know when a friend is true
is it your heart or by the things they do
would they step in front of a bullet meant for you
was there a time you thought you would die
until a friend came to your side

How do you become a friend to someone so true
would you step in front of the bullet if wasn't meant for you
if it was their time to die would you be right by their side
what cross would you bear to earn a friendship so rare

only one true friend suffered for all my sins
all though we have never stood eye to eye
without a doubt I know he's by my side
can you say thats true about Jesus and you
a friend that is aways true
