My deep and honest belief is that coffee whilst a pleasant drink to consume from home or at a coffee shop is indeed a health risk. Whether people believe this or not remains to be seen. Though one can have no doubt about is that due to coffee's compound structure where it is grown mainly in dry hills and in warm climates that the make up of coffee is surely a dry and addictive drink. Therefore the dryness and the warm climate mixed with milk and hot water also has a effect on our bodies.
I feel just like any stimulant and nicotine like drug prolonged usage of coffee has similar effects to other types of drugs such as cigarette smoking, or excessive drinking.
From my personal consumption of coffee where at times I have taken 3 medium sized cappuccino drinks in around 2 hours, the effect this has had on myself at times is perhaps harsher than consuming a packet of 20 cigarettes. The effect the coffee drink has in increasing my blood pressure, the initial increase in awareness also results in a damning feeling down and out effect after the stimulative effect of the coffee has faded and worn out. The drug works on peoples senses in that once the coffee is in a persons bloodstream that the effect is all positive and creates a feel good factor, though upon the release of the caffeine from the body the tired feeling and relaxed and lethargic after effects make people want to have more at later stages of the day or perhaps the next day etc.
There can be no health benefit at all in having increased blood pressure as this will likely to cause respiratory and breathing problems to some, and the effects of raised blood pressure has severe effects on other types of people such as heart attack and strokes. The caffeine also will similarly providing a slight increase in awareness initially this wears out after a short amount of time and the dehydrating result of the caffeine is what makes people feel thirsty and tired.
Somewhat hypothetically speaking from here is that the coffee whilst having an overall dehydrating effect also has implications upon other parts of the body as the bones get dry and become brittle and weak. Coffee has Kojic acid which is a testament to the dehydrating and toxic effect it has on people. The expensive retail purchasing consumption of coffee is wealth related. This is in a sense why coffee shops use much more milk and cream based foam inside cappuccino, latte, and some other types of coffee than they actually use coffee content in the end product.
