Glittering crystal, shimmering drink
Oh, wait my dear it's not what you think
It makes you feel "good"? Like you're alive?
Let's see, my dear, how long you survive
Not in your blood, dear, not there at all.
Won't take you long, son, not long to fall
Once you were good, you once were the best
Now like all the others, like all the rest
Creativity fell with a clunk
Not that you have become this, a drunk
What are you doing, dear, what to your health
What are you doing, son, what to yourself?
How will you justify all of your acts
Time to face up, face up to the facts.
I won't forbid, but won't condone

How will you hold you head in the light?
When you have drunk away in the night?
Who will you talk to? Who will confide
When you have drunk away all your pride
Wasted it is, all these your gifts
When looking for work, through bottles you sift
So wise on up, stop, be a man
Come on, you idiot, follow the plan
Your life has not been written this way
Your life shall not end in such foolish decay
Stop this, you fool, I can't defend
Once you have come here, here to your end.
