Poetry: Romantic pain

A Day Without An End

And the stars began to swirl
As they never had before
A gateway through a keyhole
A slowly creaking door
And all throughout the light
And thought and time did bend
The vine of Passion's flower
A day without an end

And when the moon began to rise
I saw you standing there
Silver in your silhouette
Golden in your hair
The blue-green of your eyes so deep
Swim or I shall drown
The lonesome leaf upon the tree
The echo of a sound

And though the sun and moon have gone
Twice now in their time
Er restless do I wander
In my ever-waking mind
Search not for the morrow
Or the dawn to lend
Sweet release, yet sorrow haunts
This day without an end

So came to me, in my dreams
Where only we shall tread
And drink the wine of fantasy
And words we've yet unsaid
Harken, dear, the chamber of
My heart is cold and bare
For where your fire once held court
Lie shadows of despair

And in the madness of my being
I can hear the angels singing
With their golden voices bringing
Heaven's clouds so softly swinging
And through the veil and mist
The wanton passion rends
Whisp'ring here of you, my dear
And Days Without an End.
