Short stories: Letter to a killer

Dear Mr. Brown

I woke up this morning with my brother Reginald on my mind. I wanted to talk to him, and ask him how life has been treating him. All of his children want to say hello to him too, but you have made that impossible. I wished that you would have thought about your actions before you did the unthinkable and took my little brother away from me. HE was so full of life. His children were looking forward to spending their lives with him. He was going to take them to the park, the zoo, to school, and to see their grandmother. He was looking forward to teaching them everything he'd learned in life that was good. He wanted to shelter them from the bad things in life. He wanted to keep them safe from harm. He wanted to watch their faces light up at Christmas. My mother wants to talk to him also. She misses the youngest of her nine children. She wanted to see what he was going to become. She wanted to finally take him to a zoo, because he was always too scared to go as a child. I have talked to her many times about my little brother and how much we miss him. I hate you, but my mother forgives you. She has put you in Gods hands. She wants you to get out of prison, and live a very prosperous life. She wants you to be rehabilitated. She wants you to be all you can be in life. I guess you should consider yourself lucky. I say that because I would love to hunt you down like the animal you are and torture you. I don't want you to die, but I wish that you could feel my pain. A pain that has been in my heart for the last ten years.

I know that I should not hate you, but how do I begin to clear the pain and anger from my being? How do I move on with my life?
Do you think about my little brother, and how you took his life? Did you realize that when you took his life, you killed eight brothers and sisters, a mother, a father, five children, and many relatives and friends. You killed the dreams of many people. You ruined lifelong plans, coming dreams, and the anticipation of what was to come. You didn't think.
Oh, I almost forgot to ask how you are doing.
How do you like your new home? Do you get along with your new BIG roommate? How was dinner yesterday? Was it cold in the hole last week? Aha....You didn't think I knew about your little mishap during your last appeal. What made you think that you could lose control in front of the people that holds your fate in their hands? You can pretend all you want to, but the parole board knew that you were not rehabilitated. They knew that you were not sorry for what you did to my little brother. They saw right through you when noone else could.
