I believe in preaching on the spot. If you take a closer look Jesus preached on the spot all the time. He didn't always wait to get to the temple to preach. He preached in highways and biways. Also the bible said be ye also ready. And if you studied to show yourself approved preaching on the spot should be no problem.
I told you I would have preached a sermon. So I am going to give a sermonet on the spot.
First-II Timothy 4:1 Paul with the permission from God charged us to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. This was a responsibility that was given to those called by God to the ministry. Then he said be instant. Be qiuck. Be ready right now. Not tomorrow, the day after, not next week. But now. In season and out of season. That means no matter when, where, or how. Do not have a time. This is what you do always. Until your dying day.
But since it is your calling to preach, there are guidlines. First you must reprove. To reprove is to let address the situations that have the people living in a sinful nature. Make them aware of their wrong doings. Let them know God dissaproves Let the people know that the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life.
Then it says to rebuke. To rebuke means to sharply reprimand. Give them a spanking. Tell it like it is. Do not bite your tongue. When Jesus encountered the man posessed with legions he didn't speak to him softly. He rebuked and reproved this man. He done this with such authority when Jesus asked him his name, the man said my name is legions for we are many. The power of God spoke directly to the spirit. The demond was intimidated. And Jesus casted out the demons and told the man to go home and tell his friends about what he has done for him. He did this with compassion.
Then the word says exhort. Exhort means to urge or strongly advise. Once you have addressed the issue and reprimanded, you have to exhort the people to turn from their wicked ways. By this time they shoul know what they did is wrong and want to do right. When Jesus healed this man he strongly advised this man to GO and tell everybody how good he was to him. And Jesus did this out of love. Do you think this man would go back to the way he was living? No he was free.
And you have to do this with longsuffering. This is a topic no one likes to touch but I am going to touch it. Romans 12:1 I beseach ye bretheren by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice holy, acceptable UNTO God which is your reasonable service. This means since you are called to the ministry to preach, your body no longer belongs to you. It belongs to God. You can no longer do what you want. Everything you do must be edifying to the body of Christ. That means inspite of your trial, tribulations, persecutions, illnesses, and situations.
We all know trials and tribulations comes to make us stronger. How can you preach if you have never suffered? How can you say to the sick be healed if God never healed you. How can you help people get free if you have never been delivered? It is your reasonable service to preach regardless. And when you are preaching you cannot preach without sound doctrine. Jesus said if you love me you will keep my commandments. Believe it or not, that was a commandment as well. Jesus also said I came not to do away with the law but to fulfill it. If Jesus have to live by the word what make us think we don't.
People will make the word out to suit them. They will not always be receptive to the truth. They hear what they want to hear anyway. If you were called to the ministry to be a preacher, pastor, evangelist, or a minister. They will persecute you. No matter if you are doing good or bad. You still have to deliver the word of God. Make full proof of your ministry. So if you are called to preach then PREACH, PREACH, PREACH.......
