Who said you need to go to Chinese Restaurants every time you crave for egg rolls? There's no such rule. Now there is an easy way to make egg rolls at the comfort of your own home. The benefit of making your own egg rolls? Well you can make them suit your palettes very well. Another thing is that you can always freeze them after you make it for later frying.
Ingredients:
1 kg ground pork or ground beef
cup white onions chopped
cup garlic chopped
cup carrots minced
cup turnips minced
2 eggs
Salt and pepper to taste
1 pack of small sized spring roll wrappers
Procedures:
1.In a large bowl, place the ground pork or ground beef and add the onions, garlic, turnips and carrots while mixing with a wooden spoon.
2.Beat the eggs in a small bowl and add to the meat.
3.Mix the meat either with spoon or with clean hands.
4.Add salt and pepper to taste.
5.If you are serving the egg rolls the same day you can saut and fry the mixture before wrapping it in the spring roll wrapper and frying it again. If you want to freeze the egg rolls you can wrap the uncooked mixture and keep some in the freezer for later use or deep fry them.
Egg rolls are better served with a yummy sauce. I also have an egg roll sauce recipe to share.
Ingredients:
1 cup Tomato ketchup
cup vinegar
cup sugar
In a small pan, mix the ketchup, vinegar and sugar over low heat until sugar dissolves. Serve over cooked egg rolls or put in a small sauce bowl.
