-Amazing and Amazingly Easy Crockpot Cheesy Spinach and Artichoke Dip-
This dip is simply the best out there and trust me, I love spinach and artichoke dips and have pretty much tried them at every single restaurant I go to. This originated as a Vegan recipe I got off vegweb. I will let you choose to vegan or not to vegan this dip. This is a MUST try!
Vegan Version:
-One small package of frozen spinach (thawed)
-2 medium size cans of artichoke hearts (drained and sliced)
-2-3 cloves garlic (chopped)
-8oz vegan cream cheese (softened)
-8oz vegan sour cream
-4oz soy parmesan
-a couple dashes of oregano (do it to taste)
-salt and pepper to taste
My personal addition to the recipe is red pepper flakes. They are optional, but if you like a bit of a kick and some added flavor, do yourself a favor and put a couple of pinches in.
Directions:
1. Put all ingredients in the crockpot and stir. Put on high to serve it almost right away, medium to serve it in a hour or so, or low to serve it several hours later.
Non Vegan Version:
-One small package of spinach
-2 medium size cans of artichoke hearts (drained and sliced)
-2 cloves garlic (chopped)
-8oz cream cheese
-8oz drained plain yogurt (Fat Free if you want less fat) or sour cream
-4oz grated parmesan
-a couple dashes of oregano (do it to taste)
-salt and pepper to taste
-couple pinches red pepper flakes (optional)
Directions: Same as above.
This recipe is a crowd pleaser. I have served it at family get togethers and always receive compliments.
