The Art of Flirting...

Are you subtle? cheeky? painfully obvious? Mmmmm flirting is an art and not everybody can master it. Flirtation 101, here we come!

So a female "Hitch" I shall become and let you in on a few secrets to improve your flirting technique...

Step 1:

The princess of flirting always makes the other person feel good in their company. Male, female, fat, thin, gorgeous or downright ugly - it doesnt matter as long as you focus genuine interest entirely on them. Its not about you its about them. Remember the word genuine. Easy peasy.

Step 2:

Its all about the eyes people. All about the eyes. The windows to the soul? Maybe. One thing is for sure, maintain eye contact, smile with them so they crinkle and occasionally get a bit saucy with them! Ooh winkety wink. Your eyes are key when it comes to flirting. Glances, peeping, dilating pupils.. you get the picture. Just DONT stare. Remember to look away to avoid being tagged as a mad stalker. Avoid forlone looks, it gives of an air of desperation!

Step 3:

Body language scores high up the list. Keep it open if your interested and closed if your not. Learn to read people to avoid any mixed messages. (So that you dont end up looking like a pillock) Lunging for a kiss when the other person thinks you are the elephant man? Embarrasment at the highest level. Mirror them slightly, pick up your drink the same time as them, face your feet towards them, touch their arm lightly, wiggle when walking away. It worked for Rachel in Friends didnt it?

Step 4:

Compliments become your ace cards. (No faking, gushing or going overboard) EVERYONE, young or old will blossom when recieving a compliment. Be warned some fellow humans accept them better than others. So test the water first as you dont want them to feel uncomfortable. Dont put them on a pedastool either, they are human. Just like you. Give a compliment when least expected to have maximum impact and watch them look at you in a different light.

Step 5:

Be gentle in your approach. Dont scare your target. Practise your techniques first before hitting the big time... Try not to talk about yourself too much. Save some information for when you have one on one time with the focus of your feelings. Otherwise you will lose their attention, and you dont want to crash and burn. Slowly, slowly catch a monkey.

Last one for luck:

Get a decent wing man.

Now, go forth and flirt.
