How to find people in your area to play in your band

you first start out you only make a small amount of money per gig. Sometimes you are playing just for the exposure. When you don't want just posers for your band let people know. And if you want band mates with major personality advertise this also.

HANG OUT WHERE BANDS ARE PLAYING

Go to places where bands play such as clubs and outdoor venues during the spring and summer. This way you can check out what kinds of talent are out there. Maybe you won't have to do any work at all. You could just ask to join a band you really feel tight with. Talk to the band members and find out if they are happy with their bands. Without getting beaten up, feel people out to see if they like their band or not and if they want to stay with that band. Possibly by being a roadie for gigs can give you the opportunity to meet people who love to play music but presently are not in bands.

To find you future band mates look in all the right places not all the wrong. Free advertising can help, but you will have to act as the band manager while putting the band together. You will have to hold auditions and rehearsals and book the gigs until you start making some decent money. And sometimes just being in the right place at the right time will score your band some great talent that will lead to bigger and better things.
