I remeber the day like it was yesterday. I was seven months pregnet I was haveing a lot of trouble like major diarrhea, sever stomach cramps a lot of weakness. When I arived at the doctors of the doctor came in and just talked to asked me a few questions but never really examined. His words to me were very cold "you probley just have a viruses go home and rest, if you have any real problem let me know."
That night didn't sleep at all most of my time was spent in the bathroom. The next day I had got to feeling worse so again I went back to the doctor this time he said well I guess you were right you are haveing contractions you need to go to the hospital.
I lay in the hospital bed all night in sever pain crying and begging for help but the nurses could not do anything with out the doctor's permission. It was nearley five in the morning before the doctor decided to show up. When he got there he ordered a ultersound to be done.
I was scared for my self and for my unborn child I after all had been telling the doctor for a least two months that there was something wrong that my baby didn't move like she should and I was one again made to fell like I was stupid.
When the doctor started the ultersoud they wispered among themselfs not telling me anything.
What is wrong I would as over and over never getting an answer untill finally one of them answered me only by saying "we can't tell you anything".
It must have been just a matter of minutes untill I could hear one of the nurses on the phone arranging for me to be transported to another hospital in Roanoke. The ride in the ambulance seem to take for ever. The paramedic rideing in the back seem to be very uneasy my blood pressure was droping fast.
Once I arrived at Roanoke hospital I got the answers that I needed to hear good or bad, however it wasn't good.
It seems that my baby's left ventricle was missing and there was fluid around her tiny lungs. The amniotic fluids seemed to be leaking into my stomach which was causeing the pain the doctor said that this should have been seen weeks ago.
After a few test were run and alot of medications given to me to try to stop my labor the doctor's came to only to tell me more bad news. "Your baby needs to be delivered fast but we are not able to care for a child that sick here we can either do a c-section here and then fly the baby to another hospital, but that will weaken her chances of survial, or you can fly and have the c-section there it will give the baby a little better chance."
