Poetry: Finding yourself

by Mariana Somerset

Created on: August 15, 2008

I
thought a lot of things
I
thought I knew you
I
thought you loved me

I
realized how innocent I am
I
realized you're not who I thought you were
I
realized that I don't need you

I
discovered who I really am
I
discovered that I always underestimate myself
I
discovered who I want to be and where I'm going

I
found my true self
I
found my proper course in life
I
found my guiding force

I
know how to act and how to be me
I
know how to stay on my path
I
know how to be the best that I can be

I
thought I'd never figure these things out
I
thought that I'd be lost forever
I
thought wrong
