however, has spoken that these practices should be avoided and that he abhors this practice.

Another writer brought many biblical versus into the discussion to support the No viewpoint. I will add 1 Corinthians 7:1-2 and 8-9. Verse 1 begins: "Now about the questions you asked in your letter. Yes, it is good to live a celibate life. (2) But because there is so much immorality, each MAN shold have his own WIFE and each WOMAN should have her own HUSBAND." Verse 8-10 - "Now I say to those who are not married and to widows - it is better to stay unmarried, just as I am. But if they cannot control themselves, they should go ahead and marry. It is better to marry than to burn with lust." Neither St. Paul nor any of the other apostles or disciples sanctioned gay marriage.

Do you who voted Yes on this(apparently a majority) think this is moral? This nation is headed for a big fall. It breaks my heart. All the past great civiliations (lasting much longer than we have been around)were defeated in large part because they practiced all kinds of depravity.

I wonder what is next. We are on a dangerous path. Next our courts will be legalizing bestiality and bestial marriages. Well, what about NAMBLA (Google it if you don't know what it is)? It will not be long before men are allowed to marry mere boys. Then, as someone has so aptly pointed out, why not reverse the ban on polygamy, and why not make it legal for a woman to marry several men?

I, for one, do not even believe in sanctioning gay unions without marriage. What's the difference between the two? One of my pastors said he did not have any objection to gays joining the congregation, just that he would expect them to be abstinent from sex the same as he would expect any unmarried people to be chaste and abstain from sex outside of marriage. I certainly know it is very hard to ignore one's lust either for same sex or opposite sex. It is a matter of self-control; albeit difficult, it is not impossible.

In closing, I am fearful of the future for our society since it is headed down this very slippery slope to destruction.
