The simple fact is if your having unprotected sex then there's always the risk of unwanted pregnancy. You might think your being safe for a number of reasons but the bottom line is the only way to prevent pregnancy is to use contraception. While sex is a wonderful expression of love , with it comes a whole new set of responsibilities. And if these responsibilities are taken lightly you could find yourself in a very sticky situation. A situation no less that will ensure you have 18 years and 9 months of responsibilties you never signed up for when jumping into bed. In todays society more and more people are having sex before marriage, and the percentage of underage pregnancies is astounding. I myself have 2 close friends who have both fallen into the trap of an unwanted pregnancy. Yes their children are beautiful but I bet if you asked them , they'd say they wish they had of waited to have them. Yet they'll admit it was their own fault, they didnt use protection and it came back to bite them on the ass .
Now we've probably all heard justifications for having unprotected sex - Girls giving in to keep their boyfriends happy, guys wanting to act like the "hard knock" in front of their mates boasting they dont wear condoms, couples believing if they have unprotected sex at the right time of the month they'll miss the bullet, many men believing if they pull out before they ejaculate the risk won't be there. While these are all compelling arguments and i'm sure at the best of times very convincing, they are futile reasons to not use contraception. Contraception comes in all shapes and forms. Condoms are usually the most common however if you really insist on not using them there are alternatives. If your considering having sex and want to avoid an unwanted pregnancy the best advice I can offer is speak to your parents or visit your doctor to discuss your options with regards to contraception. I know thats it's a scary conversation to have with your parents but believe me it'd be even scarier telling them that they're about to be grandparents.
Sex can be and will be when the times right a wonderful and passionate experience, but unless your mature enough to deal with the consequences that could happen, you really shouldnt be having sex. A baby is a life changing thing, even more so when it isn't planned. If your going to risk it by having unproected sex then be prepared for an unwanted baby. Think about it - is it really worth risking the rest of your life for the sake of a condom? I think not.
