Darkness is so much more
Than a lack of light.
It has a life of its own;
A reverberating pulse
Pounding always, in the back
Of your thoughts.
Fear?
No, darkness has no fear.
Darkness is fear.
Hope?
No, darkness knows no hope
Darkness destroys hope.
Loneliness?
No, no darkness is not lonely
Darkness is its own companion.
Empty?
No, surely darkness is not empty
For it has no place to be filled.
Darkness is.

Helps her escape,
