Guide to one-night stands.
So you met this great guy at a work related party, had a little too much to drink and the two of you hit it off. There was this major attraction thing happening that was so intense that the two of you started making out right there in front of your boss. But you had to; he was so cute and had too much charisma to deny the karma.
Can't deny the attraction or is it the booze talking?
After sharing a cab ride together, he asked you back to his place, and you decided to go for it because after all you didn't have to get up early to go to work the next day. The sparks flew, and you had great sex with Mr. Charismatic for what felt like just minutes, but that really were several hours of pure adrenaline-rush, heart pounding, awesome sex.
The next morning when he bolted out of bed at seven a.m. and headed out the door with his mountain bike, he smiled at you, saying, "Coffee's made, if you want some. You can stick around if you want to, I'll be back in about two hours. I have to get a work out in. By the way last night was great."
Should I stay or should I go now?
While he is pounding down the stairs to the outside world, you rub the sleep out of your eyes wondering if you should stay or go. You're wondering if you want to continue this relationship. Now that you have found out that he is definitely a morning person and you are not, but he has charisma, drive and sex appeal, you're wondering what to do.
Having a one- nightstand can lead to a relationship where wedding bells ring and you do live happily ever after. But, many times it is just two ships passing in the night and two people who really have nothing in common, except one passionate night- long affair.
The next morning or maybe even that night, there are certain rules that apply when having sex with a stranger. It's fun and it's dangerous. If you are getting all the wrong vibes from the guy you just had sex with, such as his Mother is calling him at six in the morning to find out if her little tubby is okay, then it's time to make a hasty retreat. When you find signs of immaturity or a major sexual fetish such as blow up dolls, and porn all over his place then it is time to leave.
You had sex with him, maybe it was the alcohol talking, it was fun, and adventurous, but if he has a really lousy personality when he is drunk, imagine how he will be the next day when the booze has warn off. Leave now, before he asks you to move in with him. Worse yet. He may ask you to make breakfast for him, or go over to his Mom's house and meet her.
Etiquette for that night and the next day.
When staying for the first night into the next morning, try to be on your best manners. You're sleeping with a stranger afterall! Ask him if it's okay for you to stay that night. You never know he may have a business meeting really early or possibly his girlfriend is coming home the next day. When the guy is at your place, if you want him to stay then ask him. And when you want him to leave, tell him so. You don't have to make breakfast for him, either; a cup of coffee will be just fine.
The best thing a girl can do is always carry a large purse wherever she goes with everything she needs safely tucked inside. Carry a brush, toothbrush, toothpaste, a change of panties and possibly some clothes to go home or to work in the next day. You don't want to have to put on the same clothes you wore the night before that smell like alcohol and smoke and sweaty sex. How gross! You want him to think you are a total animal under the sheets not in real life.
Many times having a one night stand means that you will never see this guy again. He could be the kind of guy you never want to see again! But, something attracted you to him in the first place, besides the booze, and if you want to see him again, tell him. The next morning you should really tell him you had a great time, and that you'll just get out of his way, so he can tackle his day. Maybe, just maybe, he'll ask you to stay for the day.
Don't just leave a note either because he can throw that out. Tell him verbally that you want to see him again. And follow up by leaving a message where he can see it-like the bathroom mirror. Write down your name and phone number on his bathroom mirror in lipstick. Then every time he goes into the bathroom he will see your name and phone number on his mirror reminding him of you.
One-night stands can be a lot of fun, but can also break your heart. And if you are the kind of girl looking for a relationship, they may not be for you. But, sometimes you just have to break the rules and go for it. Remember to be on your best manners after the great sex, because you never where and when you will see Mr. One Night Stand again.
