Change is often a hard thing, but most of time change brings growth and it should be embraced instead of feared. Changing jobs is a big decision and often times we stay in a position because it's a comfort zone. Why not examine reasons to change jobs and review them often? Perhaps we will find it's time for a change and perhaps we will find the current job is truly the best place for us.
Geographical Move
These types of relocation and job changes can be made for a number of reasons. It may that the cost of living and housing market is so much elsewhere that it's time to pack up and move on. Perhaps it is just a dream to live in a big city or move to the country. Maybe better school options are in another area. Don't be afraid to look about and see what other areas have to offer.
Personal Growth
Is just time to learn something new and try a new field? Has the glass ceiling got you stuck? Perhaps there is an area of interest you have always had you should make that change and explore a new career opportunity. Or perhaps the same field but a different company is what is needed. Maybe it's time to be your own boss and start a business.
Generally Unhappy
If you go home and every night and say "I hate my job" , then do something about it. If changing your attitude doesn't work, then it is time to change the job. You spend way too much time at work to be miserable. Don't let it happen.
Family Considerations
Perhaps it's time you move closer to family members who need to be more involved in your life. Maybe it's time to move away from family members so you can grow. If your children need a better education than the one they can receive in your area, by all means find a new job and location where the family can flourish. I remember all I wanted to do growing up was leave the small town where I was raised. After a taste of the big wide world all I wanted was to go back and give my children a taste of the life I had. Families matter.
Money
Remember money is the reason we are employed. If you need more money, change careers or companies. Get more education and do what ever it takes so you can have the things you need and at least some of the things you want in life. Money should be a consideration in employment.
Changing jobs can be a big decision, but if it is done right it can be a good thing. Burn no bridges remember that nothing is permanent. If the new job doesn't turn out to be your cup of tea, go back or try something else.
