A SOLDIERS THOUGHTS
The bullets fly right past my head
And only last week
Another mate was dead
Were fighting for freedom
Were fighting for the right
But do you think of us
As we sit huddled
In the cold dark night
Our loved one's miss us
of that we are all sure
But it's hard to be realistic
When your lying flat on the floor
Lights are flashing, and flames roar
Another bombs exploded
Just outside our door
We pray for peace and mercy
for us and all our foe
The pain inside is deep
And will never go I know
Why cant we live together
Why cant we all be free
And live our lives in total harmony
Theres always greed
With mans overpowering need
To be better than his brother
Would they feel the same I wonder
If lying next to their dead brother
If I could have one wish granted
It would not be hard for me
I'd ask for all wars to be ended
For all men to be free
We'd let the lord above
Decide whats best for you and me
No more blood and suffering
Empty words thats meant to be
A kind of weird reasoning
Why many more must die
The world around me now is growing darker
A coldness floods my veins
I'm dying I know now
Another bullet hits it's mark
For my family I feel sadness
Because were far apart
But my words are spoken truly
Of this you can be sure
they come to you from me
Straight from a SOLDIERS HEART.
