Confucius, Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin, Mohammed, Jesus. Any person who ever made a significant difference in the world had at least one other person following or supporting them in some way to help change it. No one person can change the world alone. The only way to change the entire world is through the support of a number of other people.
When taking the idea of "changing the world" literally, the thought of one person reaching every single human being on the planet is simply preposterous. To spread an idea to the entire world, many people are needed to promote the idea, keep up the hype, and move it along. Take religion, for example, more specifically, Christianity. Jesus lived on the planet and spread His ideas to His world along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea in the Middle East. After He died, He could not spread His idea that God loves everyone to the rest of the world, which is why He chose the disciples to spread that message for Him. In a similar way, military powers require much support from the society and the other individuals in power.
Hitler showed this in his rule over Germany. The only way he got to power was through convincing the people that his ideas were right. Without the support he gained from the people, he would have had no army, he would not have had generals, and he would not have had any power to affect the world the way he did in World War II. Though he brought the people to believe his ideas, it was ultimately the people that carried it out to affect the world. Mental and moral support from other people is also necessary for a world-changing individual.
Changing the entire world tends to put a lot of stress on an individual. That person may begin to doubt his or her own beliefs and ideas, or just get tired of trying to push the idea further into the world. The stress gained from setting an idea into motion in the world calls for the encouragement of others to keep moving onward. Those people supporting them could be friends, family members, or other influential figures simply reassuring them that their ideas are good or right.
Look anywhere in history to find a person who changed the world and there will always be some sort of influence or support from someone else behind them. If that is true, then it is impossible for a single person to alter their world without some form of support or help. The world is simply too large for a lone person to change it. Everyone needs the help of another to make a difference that reaches everyone, and there is no way around it.
