Many years ago, I was in an abusive relationship. The one way I would escape from the abuse was to bury my head into a notebook. I was so depressed that the only way for me to survive was to write.
My inspirations in writing came from watching my kids chase lightning bugs, having a quiet moment at the park, and feeding the ducks. Enjoying moments of solitude allowed me to organize my thoughts and come up with writing ideas.
Starting my writing craft helped me to survive the abuse that surrounded me and my family. I would write fiction stories that would be so far from what I was experiencing in my own life; my writing became my fantasy, dream life, and my escape.
Having children and a family inspired me to write stories about kids, family, and the teenage years. I have a passion for so many things and everything inspires me to write.
I could watch a show, the news, or a movie and I will come up with an idea for an article. Writing comes in so many forms, genres, and styles. The great thing about writing is that you can write about anything you want.
The most important inspiration is making a difference, sharing my opinions, and educating my readers. There is nothing like getting a response from your readers and finding out you touched their souls.
Today, I am no longer in the abusive relationship and I enjoy life. Writing is my life and it allows me to live.
